About this role

Overview

The role of a Weld Repair Technician is to perform routine preventative maintenance on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in welding machines and associated equipment
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and labor hours
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems
  • Collaborate with the Direct Planner and other team members to ensure timely and efficient maintenance and repair schedules
  • Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and provide technical support and training to staff on proper use and maintenance of welding equipment

This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma/GED, OR, a minimum of 2 years related technical experience
  • 1+ year of experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance and/or formal training or other directly related experience
  • Must be available to work all shifts and work overtime as needed
  • Candidates must possess basic mechanical knowledge to be able to effectively support mechanical repairs when the need should arise
  • Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools
  • Must be able to pick up and carry 50LBS
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Must be able to work at heights, confined spaces and in extreme temperature conditions as required

Preferred:

  • 3+ years with Electrical and Mechanical diagnostic and repair experience
  • ATICTS experience
  • Additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice Programs
  • Familiarity with MRP II, Oracle, Corrigo (Or any CMMS programs)
  • Journeyman electrical
  • Military/ Navy experience

  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet maintenance schedules and deadlines
