Overview

Job Description:

The strategic planning and enterprise portfolio management office (EPMO) team is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the team in support of EPMO technical projects and the integrated enterprise plan (IEP).  The IEP is the framework that outlines the roadmap for how EB and the submarine enterprise will scale to build two VCS submarines and one CLB submarine at the same time, which is more than double our current production rate. The successful candidate must be able to work well with the technical groups in our Shipyard, Facilities, and Operations areas. Candidates must be able to effectively communicate, and be willing to drive project performance. Specific tasking would include:

  • Running project status meetings, maintaining project records and resources, reporting project status to management and leadership
  • Working with project stakeholders to develop project plans, working through issues and risks, ensuring accountability to cost and schedule constraints
  • Developing briefing materials for EB and Navy leadership
  • Supporting project metrics and meetings
  • Supporting special projects, building out templates and training
  • Identifying and supporting process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s of science degree (or higher) in Engineering
  • 3+ years of project management work experience in a technical environment
  • Experience with enterprise software including Teamcenter, SAP, Oracle EBS, and/or Primavera

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of project management frameworks
  • Experience interfacing with senior leadership and external customers
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Jira)
  • Degree in Project Management or Project Management Certification (PMP, Scrum Master)
  • Ability to build out business metrics and reports

Skills

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally, across levels of the organization
  • Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize work and run multiple, concurrent tasks and problem solve
  • Ability developing reports and metrics for senior management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio)
