About this role

Overview

Purchasing is seeking a Program Representitive to support and oversee the execution of missile or payload tube supplier construction. This role will provide coordination and management of program operations to ensure compliance with purchase order and government requirements and contractual obligations. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver results on time.

  • Responsible for COLUMBIA and VIRGINIA Class Tube delivery efforts in support of ship construction, including but not limited to:
    • Onsite supplier oversight, EBSM management to supply base, internal/external strategic and status reporting, etc.
    • Maintain alignment between VIRGINIA/COLUMBIA Program Office and Tube Program Office
    • Integrate Program goals and objectives with tube procurement requirements
  • Work closely with NAVSEA to develop solutions to problems and address program issues
  • Work closely with Purchasing team to support onsite supplier construction support
  • Work closely with technical and support departments to identify problems and develop corrective action plans
  • Schedule & budget development and program oversight of the material procurement process through direct coordination with EB
  • Material Management, Contracts, Finance, and Engineering to manage program goals in accordance with NAVSEA PMS397 and PMS450 contract requirements
  • Capacity development
  • Future material procurement strategies that minimize program cost and risk
  • Development and implementation of risk mitigation actions
  • Identification and execution of cost reduction strategy and initiatives
  • In conjunction with EB materials management, this position will directly engage with suppliers responsible for manufacture of VPT, VPM and CMC tubes including all material required for fabrication of, and subsequent outfitting of delivered tubes

***This position will be based offsite and will require frequent travel to suppliers in areas such as Mississippi, Pensylvania, Kentucky, etc.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 15+ years of relatable experience in project management within the following:
    • Experience with missile or payload tube design and/or procurement 
    • Program management
    • Purchase order and/or contract management
    • Review and accurate reporting of program status, milestones and deliverables
    • Assistance/facilitation with supplier program reviews and customer briefings
  • Assist in the development of project plans, resource allocation and risk mitigation strategies
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers and government customers to ensure seamless execution
  • Prior experience dealing with leadership at SSGR, NAVSEA, and Suppliers
  • Strong understanding of Electric Boat procurement, design, manufacturing, and test processes
  • High energy, organizational skills, as well as a desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to lead teams across various functions
  • Understanding of program planning, scheduling and performance tracking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to brief senior leadership and government stakeholders
  • Ability to travel based on business needs as required
  • Active DOD Secret clearance, or higher

 

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management or Advanced degree in Engineering or Business Management
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Proven history in engagement with senior level company, customer, and supplier management
