Overview

The COLUMBIA Class is the Nation’s Top Strategic Defense Priority. Construction is underway and requires continuous success through construction, test, and certification to meet the Nation’s Defense needs. These program representative positions will provide focused program oversight of EB’s readiness to execute all shipbuilder test programs. Each representative will focus on a single program: Motor Module, Reactor Plant, Steam and Electric Plant, Strategic Weapons Systems, Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical, and Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems.

The applicant must have a solid technical understanding of the systems under test, as well as a strong focus on teaming and leadership while heavily engaging in collaboration to solve complex programmatic design, construction, operations, inspection, testing, and engineering issues. The applicant will be expected to review and understand all testing from both a technical and programmatic perspective in order to make recommendations to aid deck-plate execution, as well as brief senior leadership on test program status and emerging issues.

These positions provide a unique platform to lead through the successfully readiness to execute the CLB Test programs. Candidates will be expected to balance multiple competing priorities while maintaining focus on quality, schedule, and cost performance requirements.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily technical and administrative oversight and programmatic management of COLUMBIA Class test readiness
  • Provide prioritization of EB and government teams support of testing
  • Coordinate reach back efforts to cognizant EB technical experts (including engineering, facilities, test, inspection, planning, and operations), when required, to resolve emergent issues in a time critical environment
  • Provide weekly / daily reports of issues and actions to COLUMBIA Program Management
  • Provide management level out briefs to all levels of EB management and customers (SOSG and PMS 397, RPCO and NNL, NRRO and NR), including metrics creation
  • Provide leadership of test readiness efforts, including capability to drive technical testing pre-requisites into the ARTEMIS network by directing updates to Advance Planning
  • Disposition of Change Notices affecting key events

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in program management, engineering or test (NAVY experience included)
  • Experience with any of the following test programs or systems:
    • Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems
    • Reactor Plant
    • Motor Module
    • Steam and Electric Plant
    • Strategic Weapons Systems
    • Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical
    • Miscellaneous submarine mechanical and electrical systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2-years of experience working with EB test department(s)
  • Knowledge of EB Business systems (EB3G, EB7G, Artemis, Power BI)

  • Ability to rapidly understand technical requirements and information needed to execute the COLUMBIA class test programs
  • Experience in Microsoft products suite 
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to all EB levels internal and customers
