2026 Summer Intern - High Throughput Automation Technologies
Department Summary
The High-Throughput Automation Technologies team is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to help develop and implement laboratory automation systems & supporting data pipeline solutions for molecular biology, process development, and assay automation workstreams for the development of AAV therapies. This is a unique opportunity to build key strategic capabilities, as PTCG prepares to mature its gene therapy platform and support a growing pipeline.
This internship position is located in Philadelphia, on-site.
The Opportunity
Gain hands-on experience with complex lab automation workflows.
Work alongside Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and implement complex robotics workflows.
Build and optimize data pipelines integrated into robotics platforms to accelerate the decision making process.
Collaborate across the organization to implement automation solutions that accelerate the pipeline.
Program Highlights
Intensive 6 months, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Who You Are (Required)
Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).
Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).
Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).
Required Majors: Chemical engineering, bioengineering, biochemistry, biology, data science or other related life science areas.
Required Skills:
Self-motivated to learn and innovate.
Strong organizational skills and detailed documentation abilities.
Proficiency in data processing and analysis using tools such as Microsoft Excel with ability to interpret complex data sets.
Demonstrated strong customer focus and ability to collaborate across disciplines
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
Proficiency in at least one programming language is strongly preferred (e.g. C#, Python, R, Matlab, or Visual Basic).
Basic knowledge of laboratory automation hardware and software such as Tecan or Hamilton platforms is a bonus.
Knowledge of cell biology is preferred.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Pennsylvania is $45.00 - $50.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
