ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking am Electrical Engineer - Drafter to join our team supporting the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) at their Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project! This position is full-time and will be based out of West Mifflin, PA with 15% hybrid flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency performing electrical engineering drafts.

  • Knowledge of drafting standards and techniques.

  • Experience creating or reviewing electrical engineering designs based on approved technical requirements.

  • Proficiency in engineering software including SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, and/or AutoCAD.

  • Proficiency in Programmable Logic Controllers, low voltage electrical distribution, audiovisual, or telecommunications systems.

Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 3 -10 years of relevant experience.

  • Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.

  • Clearance – To be considered, you MUST be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance.

  • Experience with drafting electrical system and component designs.

  • Experience with engineering software SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, and/or AutoCAD.

  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers, low voltage electrical distribution, audiovisual, or telecommunications systems.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience with as an Electrical Engineer for level 1 - 5 years of experience for level 2 - 10 years of experience for level 3.

About the Site

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is comprised of the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory located in Niskayuna, New York, the Kesselring Site, located in West Milton, New York, and the Naval Reactor Facility located in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Together, they develop advanced technology for the United States Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, ensure the safety and reliability of naval nuclear reactors, and train Sailors who operate reactors in submarines and aircraft carrier fleets (energy.gov).
