About this role

GEA is one of the world’s largest systems suppliers for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors. Our portfolio includes machinery and plants as well as advanced process technology, components and comprehensive services. Guided by a strong sense of purpose, our more than 18,000 dedicated employees work to enhance the sustainability and efficiency of production processes globally.

Responsibilities / Tasks

We’re hiring an innovative Digital Transformation Specialist to accelerate the digital transformation of our service operations. You’ll redesign key processes, modernize data and workflow systems, and deliver automation, AI, and API‑driven integrations that boost efficiency and elevate service performance. You’ll collaborate across functions to enhance our SQL‑based planning tools and e‑catalogue, reduce quotation lead times, and embed connected, data‑driven ways of working—while enabling teams through clear training, documentation, and coaching.

  • Build modern workflows: Design and implement digital workflows and automated processes that improve efficiency and consistency in service operations.

  • Drive automation & digitalization: Identify automation opportunities and implement digital and AI tools that streamline service delivery and improve internal efficiency.

  • Own core platforms: Maintain and optimise our SQL‑based service‑planning database and e‑catalogue for data quality, accuracy, and reliable outputs.

  • Integrate systems via APIs: Build and support API integrations that connect catalogue, planning, and reporting systems for seamless data flow.

  • Apply AI where it matters: Use AI‑enabled methods to improve search quality, recommendations, and process automation.

  • Shorten cycle times: Reduce quotation lead times by improving data flow and standardising key service processes.

  • Unify the tech stack: Partner with digital, IT, engineering, and operations to integrate AI, smart technologies, IoT, and analytics into everyday service processes.

  • Enable people, not just tools: Engage stakeholders, deliver training, and provide clear guides so teams confidently adopt new digital processes.

  • Lead change: Champion digital transformation by spotting opportunities, influencing stakeholders, and embedding better ways of working.

  • Decide with data: Use analytics and reporting to assess performance and recommend improvements.

  • Improve continuously: Monitor solutions after launch and drive enhancements over time.

What this role offers

  • Endtoend ownership: Real accountability for platforms, integrations, and process design—not just maintenance

  • Modern toolset: Hands‑on with AI, APIs, automation, and data platforms to solve high‑value service problems

  • Visible impact: Measurable improvements in service performance, cycle times, and user adoption

  • Crossfunctional scope: Work at the intersection of service, engineering, IT, and operations—where transformation actually happens

  • Continuous growth: Space to experiment, pilot, and scale new solutions with tangible business outcomes

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, IT, Data Science, or a related field

  • Experience in digital transformation, process automation, or smart manufacturing

  • SQL skills with experience managing or enhancing data platforms

  • Practical experience with APIs, integrations, and data pipelines

  • Exposure to AI‑enabled digital tools and automation methods

  • Cross‑functional stakeholder management and the ability to drive change in production or service environments

  • Proven ability to train users, simplify complex topics, and support organisational change

  • Strong understanding of AI‑driven automation and data analytics

  • Experience with digital catalogues (e.g., Quanos), ERP, MES, or similar systems is a plus

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills are essential, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and operate effectively within a matrix organization

  • This role requires travel to Europe at least once per quarter. Applicants must have the appropriate rights to travel without visa restrictions, as the company is unable to provide visa sponsorship.
