About this role

Are you ready to develop new business opportunities in international markets, primarily in Asia, while supporting more sustainable industrial processes? And would you like to translate complex environmental technologies into customer value with real-world impact?

Then join GEA and take ownership of your own markets while collaborating closely with experienced specialists in sales, engineering and application development worldwide.

Responsibilities / Tasks

At our office in Søborg, you will join the Business Line Environmental, where you will become part of an international team of specialists working together to help industries reduce emissions, treat wastewater, and operate more sustainably.

The team brings together expertise from sales and process design and works closely across functions and borders. Sharing a strong sense of responsibility for solving complex environmental challenges, we exchange ideas, experience and best practices to create strong, competitive solutions and long-term customer relationships.

As an Area Sales Manager, you will work with complex, technical sales projects, mainly in Asia, and manage the full sales cycle – from early market and opportunity exploration to negotiation and contract closure.

Engaging closely with customers to understand their technical and commercial needs, you will translate advanced solutions into clear value propositions.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing assigned markets and ensuring a strong and structured sales pipeline in close collaboration with internal stakeholders across a global matrix organisation.

Furthermore, you will:

  • drive business development and identify new opportunities for flue gas cleaning and wastewater treatment solutions in international markets
  • build, manage and progress a robust sales pipeline from initial dialogue to signed contracts
  • prepare high-quality technical and commercial proposals together with engineering, application development and other internal experts
  • lead commercial and technical negotiations to ensure competitive, customer-focused solutions aligned with business objectives
  • represent GEA in customer meetings, industry events and site visits worldwide, with approximately 50-60 travel days per year.

Your Profile / Qualifications

You bring a natural drive to build relationships and create commercial results in complex, technical environments. With curiosity and confidence, you navigate cross-cultural settings and translate advanced technology into clear value for customers.

In addition, we imagine that you:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a relevant Master’s degree or equivalent experience is an advantage
  • Have some years of experience with technical project sales, ideally within environmental engineering, emissions control, waste-to-energy or industrial process industries
  • Bring a strong technical understanding of industrial production processes; experience with spray drying, flue gas cleaning or emission control technologies is a plus
  • Have a proven commercial mindset and experience working in a matrix organisation with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken; additional Asian languages are an advantage
