Job Description Summary

The Generator Mechanical Engineering team is responsible for the mechanical calculation and mechanical sizing of the generator including rotor dynamics for both new and service applications.
The mechanical engineer is responsible for performing mechanical calculations using finite element methods and dynamic assessments of generator components.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities / Responsabilités​ : 
·         Execute mechanical calculation work packages for new and service generators
·         Perform detailed mechanical assessments (static and dynamic) of generator components, e.g. welded structures, support structures, lifting devices, rotor and associated parts (including rotor dynamics, fracture mechanics and lifetime assessments)
·         Support the maintenance of mechanical calculation tools and instructions
·         Provide technical support to design, sales & tendering and engineering
·         Analyze, comment and evaluate customer and supplier specifications
·         Respond to customer and site requests
·         Specify and evaluate special mechanical measurements during factory type and/or running test or on-site
·         Effectuer des travaux de calcul mécanique pour les alternateurs neufs et en service
·         Effectuer des évaluations mécaniques détaillées (statiques et dynamiques) des composants des alternateurs, par exemple les structures soudées, les supports, les dispositifs de levage, le rotor et les pièces associées (y compris la dynamique du rotor, la mécanique de la rupture et les évaluations de la durée de vie)
·         Contribuer à la maintenance des outils et des instructions de calcul mécanique
·         Fournir un soutien technique à la conception, aux ventes et aux appels d'offres et à l'ingénierie
·         Analyser, commenter et évaluer les spécifications des client(e)s et des fournisseurs
·         Répondre aux demandes client(e)s et sites
·         Spécifier et évaluer les mesures mécaniques spéciales lors des essais type et/ou de fonctionnement en usine ou sur site


Required Qualifications/ Qualifications exigées :
·         Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
·         Major experience in successful delivery in an engineering environment.
·         Proficiency in mechanical calculations with ANSYS.
·         Knowledge in FEM, life prediction methods, structural mechanics, dynamics and materials
·         Technical knowledge of mechanical design of generators.
·         Ingénieur(e) diplômé(e) (Master of science) en ingénierie mécanique ou expérience/connaissance équivalente
·         Expérience majeure réussie dans un environnement d'ingénierie
·         Maîtrise des calculs mécaniques avec ANSYS
·         Connaissances en FEM, méthodes de prédiction de la durée de vie, mécanique des structures, dynamique et matériaux
·         Connaissance technique de la conception mécanique des alternateurs
