About the opportunity
The Student Advising Assistant provides a range of administrative services to support the performance and progress of Student Advising initiatives and collaborations with other teams across the university. The role effectively engages with diverse stakeholders, and accurately maintains and updates records and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
provide administrative assistance to one of the teams in Student Advising, the Peer Support Advisors Program, by documenting and processing event support requests from other teams
maintain program records and platforms across a range of initiatives, ensuring a high degree of accuracy, data integrity and confidentiality
assist with the implementation of administrative and process improvements on Student Advising programs and proactively report any issues to management
maintain productive relationships with other teams, both within the Division of Students and in other areas of the university, who collaborate with Student Advising teams
implement effective and transparent communication activities to keep stakeholders informed
Provide organisational assistance prior to, during and after Student Advising training and events
undertake other duties appropriate within the classification level as required.
About You
prior experience in program administration, including maintenance of documentation and online platforms
excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office) for the preparation and maintenance of documents, records and communications, especially Microsoft Excel and Forms.
some knowledge of social media and online platforms, including Discord
data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work to meet multiple deadlines and maintain attention to detail in a high-volume environment.
able to demonstrate some cross-cultural understanding
2-3 years' experience in the higher education industry
Fluent in writing simplified Chinese (preferred but not essential)
