About the opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated engagement specialist to join the Academic Engagement team in the University Library. Working closely with the Manager, Academic Engagement, the job-holder will initiate and maintain strategic partnerships with senior stakeholders in faculties and schools, fostering trust and collaboration to achieve shared objectives.

The Senior Engagement Librarian will coordinate and project manage the delivery of key Academic Engagement services, including strategic engagement initiatives and information and digital literacy programs, contribute to high-level engagement activities, and take on leadership responsibilities. The job-holder is first point of contact before a matter is referred to a more senior staff member.

 The Senior Engagement Librarian will anticipate and adapt to emerging trends and technologies in the Library and University, using this knowledge to drive innovative services that meet the evolving needs of the academic community. 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • systematically engage and build proactive partnerships with the academic community
  • coordinate business intelligence arising from strategic partnerships to share with Senior Library Leadership and other Library divisions
  • coordinate team-based delivery of information and digital literacy services 
  • provide oversight and plan faculty engagement to deliver effective learning experiences
  • assess and evaluate the effectiveness of service delivery and contribute to reporting and analytics
  • actively contribute to team, Library and University culture and values. 

About you

  • degree with substantial relevant experience; or experience and management expertise in a technical field; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training 
  • holds or willing to obtain, a Working with Children Check
  • experience in leading diverse groups to achieve collaborative and high-performance outcomes
  • experience in designing and delivering student-focused education programs, integrating emerging skills or technologies for enhanced learning experiences
  • experience in leading and managing projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality resources or programs within specified timelines 
  • experience delivering high-quality information and digital literacy services, with a thorough understanding of the contemporary landscape 
  • ability to make informed decisions, analyse data, and offer strategic recommendations that drive successful engagement initiatives
  • expertise in designing learner-focused education programs, integrating emerging trends and skills for impactful learning experiences
  • ability to align programs and services with university priorities, cultivate transformative partnerships, and measure impact through feedback mechanisms.
