Exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Biobank Manager within the Hayes Lab
Base Salary starting at $129,065 - $142,171 (HEO 8) or $146,197 – 154,260 (HEO 9) + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Biobank Manager to join the Hayes Lab based at the University of Sydney.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting coordination and management of prostate cancer patient recruitment and consenting, liaising with medical staff, ensuring SOPs are up to date and followed, coordinating completion of questionnaires and patient follow-up, secure recording of deidentified patient data, while assisting with ethical and research documentation as required at study sites across Australia and abroad.
Working with a high degree of autonomy, the Manager applies subject matter expertise to establish project frameworks, lead multidisciplinary teams, work with project manager staff to ensure meeting project financials and resolve complex operational matters, while providing sound advice to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
manage dedicated recruitment sites and overall project organisation in Australia, while assist the border project team at sites globally
develop and communicate project charters to ensure clarity and shared understanding of objectives and deliverables
establish project management methodologies, processes and templates to support consistent delivery
develop workforce plans and allocate staff with appropriate skills and experience to support implementation
design project processes and operating models aligned to governance structures
develop and implement detailed project plans, defining phases, objectives, activities, timelines and milestones
undertake other duties and projects appropriate within the classification level as required.
About you
registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA or significant biobanking experience
proficient in venopuncture and/or working with human specimens
clinical research experience/qualifications and data management experience
experience working with local ethics boards
expertise within the NSW cancer research (prostate cancer) network is preferred
prepared to travel as required
strong communication skills
experience working within a fast-pace medical system
prepared to commit Mondays-Wednesdays to the position, however, being flexible when travel is required.
