About the opportunity

As the Clinical Trial Research Support, you will join a pioneering research team at the Charles Perkins Centre and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, contributing to a first-of-its-kind precision medicine trial for adults with type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes in addition to other clinical trials being undertaken by the team.

You will manage the day-to-day conduct of a randomised, three-period crossover clinical trial, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ethics, and governance requirements. This role offers the chance to work closely with clinicians and data scientists in a dynamic research-intensive environment.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • ensure all trial activities comply with GCP, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements

  • maintain accurate documentation and prepare ethics reports for safety monitoring

  • recruit and retain participants according to inclusion/exclusion criteria

  • schedule and conduct study visits, including baseline and repeated measures

  • perform venipuncture and supervise trial-related tests (e.g., fasting blood samples, OGTT, CGM insertion)

  • collect and record clinical, biochemical, and patient-reported outcomes accurately

  • monitor CGM data and assist with data queries and quality control processes

  • liaise with investigators, ethics committees, and clinical staff to resolve issues promptly

  • attend regular study team meetings and provide progress updates.

About you

  • bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of training and experience

  • registered nurse or allied health qualifications are highly desirable

  • demonstrated experience in clinical trial management and understanding of research protocols

  • strong organisational and time management skills with ability to prioritise effectively

  • experience in completing research ethics and governance applications

  • venipuncture skills and familiarity with clinical procedures

  • ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
