Description

SUMMARY

  

The Deburr Finisher will work with the manufacturing supervisor on day-to-day production activities to manage the team including deburring, polishing, part washing and part marking. He/she will ensure proper finishing techniques are followed and demonstrate acceptable levels of quality and productivity are met within established parameters while working in a safe and effective manner. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  

  • Contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner
  • Performs finishing operations on a large variety of parts at times with high levels of complexity, ensuring the operation is performed within established parameters, minimal scrap, and acceptable levels of output
  • Plan deburring technique using proper tools, and produces parts within established finish specifications, specifications at acceptable levels of production, which includes the reading and interpretation of process drawing, routings, travelers, and dashboards
  • Knowledge of finishing equipment including hand tools, and machines in support of  daily output on specific materials ensuring that 100% of parts produced meet or exceed expectations
  • Trace any problem source(s) and ensuring proper corrective action(s) are taken to resolve detected problems
  • Reads and interprets a variety finish specifications and engineering drawings
  • Ensures that proper housekeeping is maintained including sweeping and clean up in and round her/his area of responsibility
  • Performs continuous improvement (lean) activities as needed
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment including identification of unsafe conditions
  • Complete related documentation and shop floor data collection accurately
  • Adhere to all aspects of the Quality Management System
  •  Must be a team player as measured by his/her peers
  •  Performs other related duties assigned
  • May be required to to work overtime as needed


Requirements

REQUIRED

  

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the company
  • Solid understanding and ability to use deburring and finishing tools, parts washing and laser machine 
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand technical documentation, computer literate, read process drawing (blueprints)
  • Physically able to perform routine and heavy tasks with full range of motion

 

DESIRED

  • 3-5 years grinding experience in a precision manufacturing environment preferred 
  • Precision measuring tools is a plus but not required
  • GD&T knowledge is beneficial

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
  • Normal working conditions for a manufacturing environment
