Le gestionnaire de santé et sécurité pilotera toutes les initiatives liées à la sécurité et à l'environnement au sein de l'unité, garantissant à tous les employés un environnement de travail le plus en secure possible et veillant au respect des directives de l'entreprise, des clients et de la réglementation. Cela comprend, sans s'y limiter, la formation régulière de l'ensemble du personnel aux procédures et pratiques de sécurité requises; la garantie que les inspections du lieu de travail sont effectuées conformément au calendrier ou à la loi. Promouvoir et favoriser la prévention des accidents par une évaluation continue des conditions et des comportements.

The Safety Manager will drive all safety and environmental related initiatives throughout the Unit ensuring all employees are provided the safest work environment achievable and maintaining Unit compliance with Company and customer and regulatory guidelines. This includes but is not limited to conducting needed and recurrent training to all personnel on required safety procedures and practices; ensuring workplace inspections are conducted as scheduled or required by law. Promote and foster accident prevention through continuous review of conditions and behaviors.

Fonctions et responsabilités essentielles / Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsable du programme et des performances globales de santé et sécurité de l'unité
  • S'assurer que tous les incidents font l'objet d'une enquête afin d'en identifier les causes ; collaborer avec les parties prenantes pour convenir des mesures correctives ; suivre les mesures correctives jusqu'à leur mise en œuvre ; évaluer leur efficacité
  • Suivre les données SST de manière pertinente (accidents, quasi-accidents, résultats d'inspection du lieu de travail, jours perdus…) ; créer et tenir à jour des indicateurs clés de performance
  • Utiliser les données des indicateurs avancés pour identifier proactivement les opportunités d'amélioration et élaborer des formations spécifiques à chaque service afin d'y répondre.
  • Collaborer avec les services sur leurs plans d'amélioration de la sécurité ; suivre les progrès tout au long de l'année ; apporter les ajustements nécessaires.
  • Présider/Coprésider les réunions du CMSST.
  • Gérer les blessures afin de minimiser les pertes de temps ; collaborer avec les parties prenantes pour créer des plans de travail modifiés ; collaborer étroitement avec les Ressources humaines pour gérer les programmes de retour au travail.
  • Gérer les programmes de formation à la sécurité pour le personnel de l'unité. Suivre la formation et s'assurer que le matériel est à jour.
  • Communiquer et former le personnel de l'unité à tous les niveaux sur les exigences de sécurité obligatoires, telles que le SIMDUT et les autres directives environnementales gouvernementales.
  • S'assurer que les activités liées à la sécurité du gestionnaire sont menées à bien, telles que les inspections du lieu de travail, les mesures correctives et les actions du plan d'amélioration de la sécurité.
  • S'assurer que les programmes d'entretien préventif, relatifs à l'utilisation sécuritaire des machines, des véhicules et de l'équipement de cuisine, sont établis, maintenus et maintenus dans toute l'unité.
  • Gérer le système d'analyse des risques professionnels, y compris le matériel de formation associé ; évaluer les risques de tous les nouveaux équipements et processus de travail.
  • Examiner, valider et mettre en œuvre activement les programmes de sécurité et d'environnement élaborés par le siège social.
  • Obtention et maintien d'un permis de secourisme de niveau 2.
  • Excellentes compétences en leadership, notamment capacité à influencer les autres.
  • Responsible for the Unit’s overall Health and Safety program and performance
  • Ensure all incidents are investigated to identify causes; work with stakeholders to agree on corrective actions; track corrective actions through to completion; monitor success
  • Track OHS data in a meaningful way (accidents, near misses, workplace inspection findings, days lost…); create and maintain KPIs
  • Use leading indicator data to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and to develop department-specific training to address those opportunities
  • Collaborate with departments on their Safety Improvement Plans; monitor progress throughout the year; adjust as required
  • Chair / Co-chair JHSC meetings
  • Manage injuries so that time loss is minimized; collaborate with stakeholders to create modified work plans; work closely with Human Resources to manage RTW programs
  • Manage safety training programs for Unit personnel. Track training and ensure material is current.
  • Communicate to and educate all levels of Unit personnel on mandated safety requirements such as WHMIS and other governmental environmental guidelines
  • Ensure that manager’s safety-related activities are completed, such as workplace inspections, corrective actions, and Safety Improvement Plan actions
  • Ensure Preventative Maintenance Programs, as they relate to safely using Kitchen machinery, vehicles, and equipment, are established, maintained, and sustained throughout the Unit.
  • Manage the Job Hazard Analysis system, including related training material; assess all new equipment and work processes for risk
  • Actively review, vet and implement safety and environmental programs as developed by corporate headquarters.
  • Must obtain and maintain level 2 first aid ticket
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to influence others

Expérience professionnelle / Work Experience:

  •  3 à 5 ans d'expérience en tant que responsable/superviseur de la sécurité dans un environnement de production
  • Expérience en gestion des réclamations auprès de la CNESST, des tâches modifiées et des plans de retour au travail.
  • Excellente compréhension de la réglementation de la CAT et du SIMDUT
  • Expérience dans l'industrie agroalimentaire, un atout3-5 years prior experience as a Safety Manager/Supervisor in a Production environment
  • Experience managing CNESST claims, modified duties and RTW plans.
  • Solid understanding of WCB regulations, WHIMIS
  • Experience in a food manufacturing industry a plus
