Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include weekends, holidays and split shifts.
2. Arrive to work on time, consistently.
3. Upon entering the property, arrive in proper uniform, crisp, clean and in good repair.
4. Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; management has final approval.
5. Attend all required training, safety courses; attend office and departmental meetings.
6. Report any safety hazards, follow up that hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment.
7. Report to Housekeeping upon arrival to work.
8. Pick up trash.
9. Become proficient on all appropriate equipment and safety features.
10. Learn about care and handling of all chemicals used for cleaning; know the appropriate hazardous chemicals MSDS. Not using a chemical prior to being knowledgeable about the chemical.
11. Become knowledgeable about all cleaning equipment, supplies and vehicles.
12. Pick up work report.
13. Strip all departure rooms on work report.
14. Sweep and clean ashtrays in hallways of hotel.
15. Clean windows properly.
16. Clean all departure room windows outside.
17. Clean walkway Oceanside of the hotel.
18. Prepare all rooms scheduled for deep cleaning; to include moving bed and cleaning baseboards, cleaning window valance, cleaning ceiling fans, removing bed skirt for cleaning and taking down drapes and sending to laundry for cleaning. Ask for assistance when moving over 50 pounds.
19. Assist with the turning of mattresses as needed.
20. Clean, stock and organize all work areas before leaving.
21. Perform any other jobs that will assist in quality guest service as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor or Housekeeping Manager.
22. Work in a safe manner and be knowledgeable in all safety issues in your area. Attend department meetings including required safety meeting when requested.
23. Inform Housekeeping Manager or Human Resource Department if any changes in status of driver’s license.
