GFT is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer with significant Deep Foundation Experience to join our Geotechnical Dams & Hydraulics Group in Phoenix, Arizona! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Phoenix Office. Joining the dams and hydraulics team at GFT means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. With a focus on integrating technology, sustainability, and compliance, we consider each water resources and environmental remediation project a chance to innovate and evolve to protect public health and enhance quality of life. Explore some of our signature water resources and environmental projects here.    What you’ll be challenged to do: This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Senior Project Geotechnical Engineer who has experience with Utility Clients and Projects that involve heavy civil work and earth work and deep foundations.  In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Lead geotechnical staff in planning and overseeing field explorations, construction projects, laboratory testing, geotechnical design and analysis of shallow and deep foundations, slope stability analyses of landslides, settlement estimates, design of earth retaining systems, and ground improvement assessments for complex sites.
• Develop or review full design packages with geotechnical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates.
• Provide technical direction to less tenured staff.
• Work in a team environment providing geotechnical engineering services and leadership.
• Lead geotechnical engineer and/or project manager for a wide variety of engineering projects supporting public and private sector clients.
• Develop proposals and participate in other business development activities.
• Assist senior staff in managing client relationships, including business and new client development to expand the scope of our existing services.

What you will bring to our firm:  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.• Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience post-graduation, preferably in the Power Delivery sector.• P.E. in Arizona is required, or ability to obtain in first 6 months of hire.

• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, gINT, ALLPILE, GEO-SLOPE, GRLWEAP, LPILE, SLIDE, FAD Tools, SHAFT, SETTLE3D software.
