This role plays a critical part in bringing beloved licensed properties to life through high-quality, brand-right products while building meaningful partnerships with some of the world’s most iconic licensors.

The Senior Product Developer (Softlines) is responsible for making sure that concepts turn into cool Loungefly backpacks, bags, and wallets on retail shelves. They will manage projects from initial conception through our art team and into production in our factories. The position will collaborate with our external licensors (Lucas Arts, Marvel, Netflix, are a few examples), factories and sales teams to make sure that products are made with the required specifications. • Provides Technical Design mentorship for Loungefly development, guiding Associate Level Developers on soft-goods construction, materials, trims, hardware, and production feasibility.
  • Champion the licensor approval journey by managing the full licensor approval workflow, including concept submissions in proprietary portals, sample approvals, packaging, and final production signoffs.
  • Strengthen and build licensor relationships by serving as the primary point of contact for assigned licensors—fostering trusted and collaborative partnerships through clear communication, responsiveness, and a deep understanding of licensor goals, brand standards, and long-term business objectives.
  • Partner with our art team to guarantee assets are delivered on time, meet licensor expectations, and align with initial design submissions—all while ensuring costs hit the mark.
  • Create detailed, factory-ready tech packs that include materials, BOMs, EOQs, product instructions, and timelines. Will update and refine technical documents as products evolve.
  • Serve as the go-to technical expert for factory partners, answering questions and clarifying specs and patternmaking, knowing what’s feasible and how to adjust to stay within manufacturing limits.
  • Review and approve all samples and packaging—from silhouettes to stickers—providing clear feedback to ensure every detail is accurate, on-brand, high quality, and licensor-approved before production.
  • Collaborate closely with the Quality and Compliance teams to identify risks early, resolve issues, coordinate product testing, and ensure documentation is complete across licensor platforms and internal systems.
Must-Have Superhero Gadgetry
