Looking to take your water engineering career to the next level? Join Fulton Hogan as a Water Engineer and play a pivotal role in leading our water services maintenance and operations team in Northland. Reporting directly to the Water Maintenance Contract Manager, you’ll ensure we deliver on our commitments to clients, uphold Fulton Hogan’s values, and foster a culture of safety and excellence.
In addition to the above you will:
Lead and support the water services maintenance and operations crews, ensuring all work meets client specifications, contract KPIs, and complies with timeframes and budgets.
Support and maintain a strong safety, quality, and environmental culture within the team.
Build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Assist with asset performance analysis, helping to enhance service delivery, reduce ongoing asset costs, and support the client with planning and improving water services.
Interpret contract documentation into actionable work instructions for crews and proactively solve operational challenges.
Prepare accurate monthly contract reports; participate in national water initiatives and share local insights with the wider Fulton Hogan team.

We’re looking for someone with:
Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (water infrastructure experience is a plus).
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build customer and supplier relationships. Solid understanding of health and safety, water hygiene practices, and industry risks (contamination, confined spaces, permits),
Strong written and verbal communication skills, practical “can-do” problem solver, keen attention to detail, and effective time manager.
Confident working with data and applying risk management principles.
Licences: Full class 1 driver’s licence required.
Personal Qualities: Safety-first approach, reliable, hard worker, team player, and a “good sort” who treats others with respect. Motivates and leads staff, listens well, wants to learn, and takes pride in delivering a job well done.
