Job Description

The Opportunity 

Fulton Hogan is seeking an experienced Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) Lead to support the Wellington Transport Alliance (WTA), overseeing both strategic and operational TTM delivery across a complex State Highway network.

The role requires deep expertise in CoPTTM and NZGTTM, strong leadership capability, and proven experience managing crews and subcontractors. You will build and develop high performing teams, ensure capability meets organisational and industry expectations, and provide expert guidance to uphold best practice TTM standards. A key focus is proactive risk management and enabling safe, efficient, and consistent TTM delivery.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure efficient and reliable delivery of TTM across the WTA network, with a strong focus on safety, performance, and customer outcomes.
  • Provide operational expertise to manage risk and identify opportunities that support continuous improvement in TTM operations.
  • Lead training, development, and coaching initiatives to build a future fit TTM workforce, ensuring strong team capability, consistent delivery, and effective succession.

About you

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • 5+ years’ experience delivering TTM services in high capacity motorway environments
  • Proven people management including operational crews
  • Strong subcontractor and supplier management capability, including commercial oversight
  • Experience contributing to strategic planning and long term operational improvement
  • Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks, industry standards and best practice TTM methodologies
  • Commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting and operational expenditure management
  • Strong communication and influencing skills

Together, the alliance is responsible for managing the maintenance and operations programme for the state highways and roading networks across the Greater Wellington Region.
