The opportunity

As a Specialist Operator with our Transport team in Palmerston North, you’ll do more than just operate equipment—you’ll play a key role in setting up worksites, maintaining machinery, coordinating with your crew, and ensuring construction materials get where they need to be.

You’ll be responsible for utilising a range of modern equipment including excavators, loaders, rollers, trucks, mid-mount tractors, and graders, all while contributing to a safe and organised workplace.

In addition to the above you will:

• Conduct routine equipment safety checks, site set-up, and basic maintenance

• Transport materials between worksites and assist with loading/unloading tasks

• Complete daily reporting, keep accurate records, and support your team as needed

We're looking for someone with:

• A full, clean Class 4 driver’s licence (Class 5 is desirable)

• Wheels, Tracks and Rollers endorsements

• Dangerous goods endorsement

• Proven experience transporting machinery within civil construction / contracting roles

• Have a sound knowledge of all transport trucks
