We’re looking for Senior Health and Safety Advisors to join our construction division based in Auckland.

A few of our projects include (P2D) Papakura to Drury and other nationally significant civil water infrastructure projects. Our current projects span a wide range, including bridges, wharves, water treatment plants, storage tanks, and pipelines.

Play a critical role in shaping and elevating our HSE culture. Stepping in as the lead strategic partner to the business, you will drive proactive engagement initiatives, coach and mentor stakeholders at all levels, and champion the consistent integration of Fulton Hogan’s HSE policies to achieve industry leading safety outcomes. Your ability to influence direction, foster strong relationships, and drive a culture of accountability will be key to your impact and success.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Encourage a positive, open and honest H&S culture that empowers teams to speak up and engage
  • Provide valuable site advice, lead risk assessments, safety audits, and workplace inspections
  • Lead and support incident investigations and recommending corrective actions, driving compliance
  • Deliver safety training and staff induction programs, providing education on H&S policies
  • Building positive working relationships with our clients and subcontractors through proactive engagement and management
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation in line with regulatory requirements
  • Promote operational ownership of HSE compliance, driving achievement of HSE KPI’s
  • Stay up to date with industry HSE practice and regulatory changes

We’re looking for someone with: 

  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Level 6 Health & Safety / Engineering or Advance Trade is preferred
  • Have 5+ years’ experience preferably within a contracting and construction environments is ideal
  • Have hands-on experience with incident investigation, risk management, and safety audits
  • A track record of implementing and embedding company strategic improvements across a large diverse team.
  • Be a strong, effective communicator, confident and able to influence and attract engagement
  • Be physically fit to walk around large sites on uneven terrain, climb ladders etc.
  • Able to work outside of normal working hours (weekends and Night Shifts) on occasion            
  • Hold a NZ class 1 full driver’s licence
