Are you passionate about building a positive safety culture and leading operational excellence in civil construction? Fulton Hogan is seeking a dedicated Safety & Quality Advisor to join our Kaitaia team. You’ll be our frontline expert, driving health and safety outcomes and ensuring our worksites run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
In addition to the above you will:
Lead and Participate – Run pre-start meetings, contribute to risk assessments, and champion safety planning.
Ensure Compliance – Maintain high standards across safety, environmental, and quality processes (AWMS).
Incident Management – Report, investigate, and help us learn from incidents, accidents, and near misses.
Support and Coach – Mentor frontline workers and supervisors, sharing best-practice Safety and Quality knowledge.
Deliver Training – Provide basic in-house safety training and quality training to ensure everyone’s on board.
Documentation & Systems – Manage H&S systems, documentation, and reporting software across multiple sites.
Integrated Management – Support related functions (environment and quality) and respond to project-specific requirements as needed.

We’re looking for someone with:
Industry Experience – Previous operational experience in construction contracting or other high-risk industries (supervisor/manager level preferred).
Qualifications – Formal Health & Safety qualification (Level 4/6) or working towards it.
Advanced Skills – Training in conflict resolution, negotiation, change management, contracts, or law.
Tech Savvy – Strong computer skills, able to learn AWMS system and to train others in using apps and software.
Licence – Current Class 1 driver’s licence.
Physical Fitness – Capable of navigating large sites, with flexibility for extended hours, travel, weekend or night work as needed.
