Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a new Paving Foreperson. Reporting to the Department Manager, you will be responsible for the onsite operational delivery of asphalt paving on various projects within the Dunedin region. This includes planning and managing labour, plant, materials, and subcontract resource to deliver the project works safely and efficiently. You will be highly motivated and organised and enjoy leading others to maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.

In addition to the above, you will:  

• Plan, promote and maintain a safe work environment
• Complete and review documentation relevant to the role; time sheets, daily job sheets, pre-start inspections, plant usage sheets, quality checklists and hazard IDs
• Understand and deliver works to the required quality standards

We’re looking for someone with:

• Proven leadership capabilities
• A positive, can-do attitude
• Minimum Class 2 Driver Licence with WTR
• A high level of machine operator experience, especially on asphalt paving gear
• Flexibility to work shifts, travel and staying out of town at times
• Physically fit
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
