We are looking for a Performance & Customer Manager to support the Contract Manager on our newly secured IDC contract with NZTA across the Manawatū and Whanganui regions. As the main link between the contractor and the principal’s customer roles, you’ll provide timely information to support communication and engagement plans, respond to stakeholder queries, and supply content for engagement activities. You’ll regularly report operational feedback, attend key meetings, and keep thorough records of customer interactions and requests. You will manage and provide performance data for OPM’s and KRA’s as well as ensuring customer and stakeholder relationships are effective and timely.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Respond promptly and efficiently to customer and stakeholder queries, resolve operational issues, and communicate disruptions clearly, providing practical options and empathy

  • Prepare and provide content for communication and engagement collateral, attend workshops and meetings, and regularly report stakeholder feedback to guide future engagement strategies

  • Maintain accurate records to demonstrate performance, including tracking customer requests, responses, and delivery of site-specific engagement activities

  • Liaise with landowners, stakeholders, and local authorities, assist with site visits, monitor public relations matters, and contribute to reports and any additional duties as required

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in customer coordination, stakeholder engagement, or a related field

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of departmental processes, contract requirements, and engagement activities

  • Proven ability in effective communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving with customers, stakeholders, and landowners

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple engagements

  • Confident in preparing communication materials and supporting site-specific engagement activities

  • Ability to attend and contribute to meetings, resolve operational issues, and respond to queries promptly

  • Flexible approach to undertaking miscellaneous duties and supporting a collaborative team environment

  • Current class 1 driver's licence
