Join our team in Palmerston North as the NZTA IDC Asset & Quality Manager

Fulton Hogan is proud to have acquired the NZTA Integrated Delivery Contract (IDC) for Manawatū-Whanganui, taking responsibility for the majority of state highway maintenance and renewals across the region. The Asset & Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing both the contractor’s quality management and MSQA processes, as well as all aspects of asset information management. This combined role ensures the accuracy and timely delivery of onsite quality records, the upload of work completion and defect data, and the overall integrity of data provided to the Principal’s Asset Management Database, in accordance with the Data Management Plan and Asset Management Data Standard. Working closely with the principal and key stakeholders, the role involves validating and analysing performance data, managing key databases and asset information tools, and aligning quality standards with contractual and client requirements.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Ensure all team members have the experience, knowledge, and support needed to exceed quality standards, fostering pride in workmanship

  • Establish, maintain, and continually improve effective quality management systems, assurance processes, and accurate asset data aligned with contract specifications

  • Oversee and manage asset information systems, conduct quality audits and reviews, and provide comprehensive documentation and monthly quality reports

  • Drive achievement of key performance indicators, ensure timely remediation of defects, and support ongoing improvement and durable contract delivery

  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships for effective planning, coordination, and support of contract activities and improvement projects

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Relevant engineering degree, diploma, or significant industry experience in civil construction, asset and traffic management, with strong technical and problem-solving skills

  • At least five years’ experience in asset data management, civil engineering, or site operations, demonstrating quality delivery and regulatory compliance

  • Team management experience preferred, with the ability to foster safety, performance, and a collaborative culture

  • Solid knowledge of departmental procedures, industry standards, and road maintenance contracts

  • Class 1 driver’s licence

  • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with proven stakeholder relationship management
