We are looking for an inspiring HSQE Zone Manager to lead the charge in creating world-class health & safety systems across the Upper North Island. If you’re passionate about keeping people safe and helping teams excel, this position puts you at the very centre of our operations. Reporting to the Upper North Island General Manager, you’ll champion our 'Living Safely' vision and empower teams to deliver best practice and continuous improvement in injury prevention and safety management.
We are open to location being based in the Upper North Island area and will require travel as part of the role
Key Responsibilities
Drive the health & safety culture across the Upper North Island, promoting behaviours that protect and inspire.
Develop, roll out, and continuously improve national and regional safety systems, including external accreditations like the ACC Partnership Programme.
Provide advisory support and training, coach managers and staff, keep everyone engaged and up-to-date with the latest safety information and legislation.
Build strong relationships with managers, field staff, subcontractors, national safety teams, and external medical providers; ensure everyone is on the same safety journey.
Oversee compliance, injury management, performance reporting, audits, site safety visits, and proactive risk management.
Lead the annual business planning process for safety, coordinate health checks, and drive new initiatives that lift our performance and engagement.
Encourage an attitude of ‘ownership and empowerment’, giving people the tools and confidence to take responsibility and continuously improve.

We’re looking for someone with:
Tertiary qualification in H&S, and at least five years’ experience in a contracting or industrial environment.
Practical leadership skills, able to coach, develop and positively influence people at all levels.
Strong communication, confident presenting, facilitating investigations, and reporting to executive and regional management.
Motivation to deliver results - able to analyse trends, solve problems, and take action that keeps everyone safe.
Familiar with database/intranet tools, and skilled in Microsoft Office.
Critical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Ability to Identify and develop key relationships with stakeholders to contribute to successful company outcomes.
