If you’re a Chartered Accountant with commercial savvy and practical flair, we want you on our team! As our new Finance & Commercial Manager, you’ll report to the General Manager, Upper North Island and join a dynamic network of Regional Managers and colleagues, driving transformational outcomes for our Upper North Island Infrastructure Services business.
This isn’t your run-of-the-mill finance job. You’ll be at the heart of our operations supporting commercial strategy, forging key partnerships, and delivering insights that have a direct impact on projects. You won’t just crunch the numbers you’ll shape the story behind them, guiding our business towards sustainable growth and excellence. Your day-to-day impact will:
Support the General Manager - UNI, providing expert guidance on all things finance and commercial. When challenges arise, you’re the go-to person who finds smart solutions.
Connect with regional leadership and stakeholders across the business, developing relationships that lead to long-term commercial success.
Turn big-picture strategy into real-world action, taking ownership of financial compliance, reporting, and business cases that help us win work and deliver results.

The role location is flexible to the Upper North Island and travel will be required as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with policies, delegated authority, corporate limits, and contractual obligations.
Own financial integrity for the upper North Island, enforcing rigorous internal controls.
Lead timely and accurate monthly reporting; manage cash collection and credit control.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and margin monitoring, driving profitability.
Support tenders and advocate for our position in business cases.
Assist in strategy development, manage overheads, and drive reciprocal trade.
Ensure compliance with NZ law and business plan compilation for new projects.
Expand staff commercial abilities and standardise processes aligned with national best practices.
Collaborate nationally to align finance and commercial initiatives.

We’re looking for someone with:
Chartered Accountant (or similar), with broad business and commercial acumen.
Strong NZS3910 and contract law exposure.
Expertise in forecasting, project analysis, and cost management.
Analytical skills, attention to detail, and deadline-driven work style.
Fantastic written and verbal communication skills; able to prepare clear presentations.
People-first approach - lead, coordinate, train, and build trusted relationships.
Current full driver’s licence.
Highly organised, prioritise tasks, and embrace challenges.
