Position Overview

The Solution Architect leads and drives the digital manufacturing design for the global implementation at FujiFilm. This role owns generation and lifecycle of the reference architecture for digital manufacturing capabilities including automation, OT, and OT systems.   This role also supports the governance for life cycle of digital manufacturing capabilities, and role continues to develop as the sites transition from project phase to fully operational.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Gather and document business requirements, mapping them to capabilities, value streams, and operating models to ensure solution fit.
  • Ensure standards, systems, and processes comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)).
  • Drive the technical implementation of Recipe Driven Operations (RDO) for small scale sites.
  • Facilitate decision process (cost, risk, compliance, sustainability) to recommend preferred architectures.
  • Participate in architecture review boards and design review activities.
  • Identify, document, and manage architectural risks, technical debt, and deviations; propose mitigation strategies and remediation plans.
  • Partner with global colleagues to effectively implement processes, procedures, and work standards.
  • Provide guidance and training to Automation and operations
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to properly execute projects
  • And other job duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical,  Mechanical, Computer or Systems Engineering or other relevant field
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in a regulated industry (e.g., biopharmaceutical, medical device, or industrial manufacturing) including
  • 5+ years in IT, digital, automation, or engineering roles supporting manufacturing operations
  • Proven experience designing and implementing solutions aligned to ISA-88, ISA-95, ISA-18.2
  • Experience supporting large transformation programs or platform implementations

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in a technical field of study relevant to Automation, Instrumentation & Controls, or Business Management with 4+ years of related experience in a regulated industry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of biopharmaceutical production processes within drug substance manufacturing including single use technologies
  • Ability to adapt communication styles to differing audiences and advise on difficult matters
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem solving skills; able to balance compliance, risk, cost and sustainability considerations
  • Ability to train, mentor, and provide guidance to other team members; collaborates effectively in global, cross functional environments
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and influence decisions across stakeholders
  • Effective communication, both written and oral
  • Strong knowledge of bio-pharmaceutical production within Fill Finish, Utility, Pen’s/devices, and Automation/IT
  • Proven experience designing and implementing solutions aligned to ISA-88/ISA-95
  • Ability to travel internationally to our United Kingdom facility and domestically to our College Station, TX facility

The US salary range for this position is $93,000 to $161,000.  Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

 

This is a global position that will support all our FUJIFILM Biotechnologies sites. This position can be based at any of our locations around the globe. Benefits and compensation will be governed by the location that you are based from and considered your home site.
