Position Description

 

We are hiring a Express Media Services Custom Project Manager. The Express Media Services Custom Project Manager will organize, track, expedite and manage active custom Express Media Services products flowing from the initial request from Customer through Sales. The Express Media Services Custom Project Manager will be responsible for managing all custom Express Media Services orders, setting up new part numbers and providing quotes. A key aspect of the role is initial clarification and confirmation of requirements [known as the Custom Media Order or CMO process].

Job Description

 Responsibilities:

  • Tracking and analyzing custom Express Media Services  product activities, including past sales and trends.
  • Coordinating among various departments -- Sales, Marketing, Master Data, Formulation Sciences,
  • Customer Service, Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Shipping -- to ensure that active EMS custom orders are flowing through the process in a timely fashion.
  • Provide formal quotes to Sales for all EMS custom orders in a timely fashion
  • Review/approve Media Survey Panel (MSP) Sample requests
  • Manage MSP inventory and work with R&D and Planning to ensure safety stock to meet customer demands
  • Enforce a safe culture/environment that promotes active, open and honest communication by all stakeholders
  • Organize, compile, and revise (as necessary) the up-front information gathering and customer acknowledgement of EMS custom order requirements (CMO Process)
  • Provide regular project updates and information to Sales, Management, and all internal teams, as requested.
  • Resolve discrepancies in information and/or expectations in terms of EMS custom order processing and fulfillment; negotiate as required in the efforts to prioritize actions required to meet customer requirements for custom product provision
  • Host/manage the routine forum/meeting that ensures alignment among key functions required to execute against custom product demands
  • Ensure that assigned projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track and report progress.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques such as PowerBI and Salesforce
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Maintain and update the DTI’s and SOP for EMS Custom orders for the CXT Marketing Team.
  • Serve as the lead to the weekly EMS Project calls with the internal teams
  • Must have proven ability to build relationships and guide teams which include representatives from multiple functional areas. 

 

Required Skills/Education:

  • BS/BA degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry) or Marketing (emphasis on technical/scientific products) preferred; Associates degree minimum requirement.
  • 2-3 years relevant project management experience. Bioprocess, medical device, or pharma manufacturing experience preferred
  • 2-3 years marketing experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of how ‘custom orders’are processed.
  • Sales, Customer Service, or environment involving ‘custom’ [make-to-order or engineer-to-order] products.
  • Commercial (Marketing, Sales, Customer Service) background and/or experience in a medical device, life sciences or related industry is preferred.
  • High degree of organizational skills (planning, coordinating, tracking) related to time-sensitive creation/production of products used in a technical environment.
  • Strong cognitive/analytical and strategic thinking skills; confidence and assertiveness to render timely decisions around complex situations
  • Creativity in overcoming obstacles and barriers to progress.
  • Relevant project management tools, such as MS Project
  • Basic understanding of cell culture bioprocessing and standard cell culture media preparation methods
  • New product development process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, PowerBI, SalesForce, SAP, and productivity software.
  • Understanding of cGMP
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain/project a positive attitude, especially during difficult situations.
  • Requires the skill to work as part of a focused team over extended periods of time.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills (both in small/direct meetings with management, as well as in large venues such as Sales meetings)

 

Salary and Benefits:

  • For California, the base salary range for this position is $69,542 - $90,283. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
