Position Overview

This position is responsible for day-to-day receipt, inspection, and repair of electronic equipment, including Light Sources and Video Processors, as well as any other duties requested by supervisor or manager. This position is responsible for consistently meeting monthly repair targets while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Technical support

  • Perform daily receiving of electronics equipment.
  • Perform daily incoming inspections.
  • Perform electronics troubleshooting and repairs, including color adjustment, calibration, and electrical safety tests.
  • Assist the Electronics Supervisor in the overall organization and performance of electronics service department.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports concerning electronics service department progress.
  • Report any unusual repair problems to the Electronics Supervisor for proper escalation.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate as needed with Parts Department to ensure the proper inventory of equipment service parts.
  • Must follow instructions and apply to real situations in a very quick manner.
  • Reach monthly targets on a consistent basis.

Communication

  • Communicate with customers on an as needed basis to explain findings or to gather additional diagnostic information.
  • Communicate with customer care, field service engineers and sales personnel to explain findings or repair techniques.
  • Communicate with internal technicians as well as with the certified partners and/or the training supervisor on repair techniques which were used to resolve any unusual issues/circumstances.

Other

  • Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO 13485 standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Electronic and mechanical skills required.

Educational Requirements:

  • Electronic and/or Mechanical Certification or degree preferred but will consider applicants with relevant experience in medical device repair, electronics/mechanical repair, or a similar field.

  • Must follow instructions and apply to real situations in a very quick manner.

Physical requirements:

The position requires the ability to perform the following physical demands and/or have the listedcapabilities:

  • Stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, use electronic or mechanical repair devices, fine motor skill dexterity, reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel,crouch; and talk or hear.
  • Required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel:

  • Occasional (up to 10%) travel may be required based on business need.
