Salary:
$37.00 - $39.75/hour (salary increase based on annual performance review per company policy)

Terms and Conditions of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time (40h/week), weekends and overtime may be required
Work Setting: Fruit and vegetable manufacturing and processing plant
Work Site Environment: Cold/refrigerated, Wet/damp, Noisy

Job requirements:
- Languages: English
- Education: High school or equivalent
- Experience: 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Area of specialization: Material handling equipment, Hydraulics, electronics, electrical and mechanical servicing and repair
- Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads (up to 45kg/100lbs), Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Able to hear warning signals
- Personal Suitability: Adaptability, Effective communication, Team player and ability to work independently, Motivated, Accurate, Client focus, Numeracy, Problem-solving
- Technology used: Database software applications, Google Apps
Duties:
Maintain and perform daily preventive maintenance on material handling equipment (including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
Maintain battery room and chargers to include charging and changing batteries for material handling equipment
Repairs or replaces defective parts using hand and power tools
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, hand and power tools
Maintain equipment rooms in a neat and orderly fashion
Maintain appropriate levels of material handling equipment maintenance supplies
Follow through and complete all work orders
Designs, implements, and reviews daily operator’s checklist procedures
Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local guidelines, including OHS
Perform other related duties as required
