Where You Will Work
Our Miami smelter and rod plant is nestled just 90 miles east of Phoenix. The smelter processes copper concentrate primarily from our company’s Arizona copper mines and is the most significant source of sulfuric acid for our North American leaching operations. What You Will Do
- Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects.
- Serve as Project Manager or Technical Advisor, on small-to-medium site construction, expansion or modification projects.
- Evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
- Collaborate in site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areas.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of Appropriation Request (AR) for capital funding.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
- High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of Engineering experience, OR
- Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific discipline and three (3) years of Engineering experience
- Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management experience
- AutoCad Drafting experience
- Mining and/or Heavy Industrial Construction/Maintenance experience
- Experience in project development activities (drawing review, scope development)
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $90,000-$124,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
