About this role

The working group "Thermochemical Processes" focuses on the conversion of biomass and other raw materials into energy sources and valuable chemicals and fuels using chemical and physical conversion processes such as gasification, combustion, and pyrolysis. We investigate both fundamental reaction mechanisms and system integration, including purification, processing, and techno-economic evaluation of thermochemical conversion chains to enable renewable fuels and energy solutions. Our experimental and model-based work aims to improve the efficiency, sustainability, and scalability of thermochemical technologies in energy and industrial applications.
