2026 Undergraduate Summer Intern – Job Posting

Department Title: Undergrad Intern – Canada Retail Sales

Please read before applying:

Start Date: All interns must start in office and in person on May 4, 2026.

Anticipated End Date: August 14, 2026 – All interns must be in office and in person on their last day to return equipment. Interns must be located in the same location throughout the duration of their internship and are prohibited from returning laptop/equipment to a different office location or shipping their equipment back.

Position Summary: 

Utilizing strong knowledge of financial services industry, Franklin Templeton products and services to proactively sell and support the Investment Advisor community within the assigned territory(ies). The key responsibility is to enhance and cultivate new sales while focusing on retaining AUM (assets under management). The relationship with qualified prospects will be developed through proactive sales presentations both virtually, and in-person, highlighting how the FTI tools and products can meet the advisors’ needs.

Retail sales is dedicated to continuing to drive sales growth and be that partner for our clients. In this role, you will use your education, skills and experience, to aid the team in completing key projects. With your help, the retail team will continue to provide dedicated support to our clients and drive efforts to be efficient and productive in day-to-day processes.

  • Understand the retail investment industry, the relevant distribution support teams, and operational functions
  • Understand the importance of maintaining accurate, valid, and current data in CRM to manage relationships and interactions with current and potential clients

Key Responsibilities Can Include:

This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about private wealth from an industry leader. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist in:

  • Data management & data maintenance – ensuring data accuracy, data cleanliness and readiness in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and reporting
  • Industry and firm research – understanding the advisor and dealer landscape
  • Review business processes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Reporting – build out reports based on requests and sales support requirements
  • Competitive research – follow up emails, product reviews, Morningstar, BestBuilts, etc.
  • Participate and/or lead ad-hoc projects

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Rising undergraduate student in his/her second or third year of university
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Keen interest in developing a career in financial services
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills
  • Solid analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Eagerness to learn and desire to be a team player
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexibility and willingness to perform various ad-hoc assignments
  • Takes initiative to identify problems and complete tasks

This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 35 (dependent on state/location) hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $24 (dependent on location and function) CAD per hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
