About this role

Franklin Pierce University is seeking a mission-focused, self-starter as the Assistant Coach of Men’s Soccer JV. Our Men’s Soccer team are 2022 NCAA Division-II Champions. This high achievement follows a long history of successful seasons, teams, and athletes. Our athletics are more than just our successes, but our Ravens pride and passion. This position will be someone who can continue our Ravens’ mission through skillful leadership and coaching.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with planning and strategy related to specific practices and games, as well as the overall season and program.
  • Assist with conducting regular team practice sessions.
  • Recruit student athletes and coordinate recruitment efforts with the Admissions Office
  • Scout opponent teams, contact and visit high schools to evaluate athletic performance and potential
  • Meet with students, parents, coaches, and guidance counselors to discuss the Franklin Pierce University athletic and academic programs.
  • Complete background research regarding students to assess the likelihood of succeeding academically and socially, as well as athletically at Franklin Pierce University.
  • Assist the Head Coach with coaching, scheduling, travel arrangements, and/or other administrative tasks as assigned
  • Informally advise and counsel team members on a variety of matters, referring unusual or difficult problems or situations to the Head Coach
  • Participate in various athletic advertising and fundraising efforts
  • Remain current on relevant college athletics regulations and guidelines

Previous Experience:  Coaching experience required, and a minimum of two years working in a campus or athletic environment.

Knowledge and Education: Bachelor’s degree is required, but a Master’s degree is preferred. Needs to have a general knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
