We are looking for an Operational Lead who will be responsible for managing and optimizing the ongoing operations of Data Engineering & Business Intelligence services. This role ensures seamless production support, efficient incident management, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while aligning with business goals. 

Need someone with strong leadership and technical skillet to ensure production related deliveries are delivered as defined. Should be able to collaborate with the team/internal & external stakeholders on functional and technical issues pertaining to production related solutions/applications/products.  

 

Role Details 
You will lead the operation team providing L1/L2/L3 support to a US based client working in the US time zone or working in a 24*7 support model. (as applicable).  

 

Requirements:

  • Experience: 7+ years in Data Engineering, BI Operations, or IT Service Management. 
  • Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Data Pipelines, ETL, Cloud Platforms (Oracle/Azure/AWS/GCP), BI Tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and/or Backend technologies. 
  • Service Management Expertise: ITIL framework, incident & change management, and SLA governance. 

 

 Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for Data Engineering & BI platforms, ensuring reliability and performance. 

  • Manage SLAs, incident resolution (L1/L2/L3 support), and service requests efficiently. 
    Establish and enforce best practices for monitoring, alerting, and issue resolution. 

  • Implement automation, proactive monitoring, and performance tuning to enhance system efficiency. 

  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and problem management to reduce recurring issues. 

  • Drive cost optimization strategies, including cloud resource efficiency and workload balancing. 

  • Oversee CI/CD pipeline execution for deploying updates with minimal disruption. 

  • Ensure compliance with governance, security, and data privacy policies across all operations. 

  • Collaborate with development teams for smooth feature releases and enhancements. 

  • Act as a bridge between business, data engineering, and BI teams, translating operational needs into actionable solutions. 

  • Conduct QBRs, performance reviews, and service improvement plans with key stakeholders. 

  • Mentor and guide operations team members, ensuring skill development and role clarity. 

 

Preferred Certifications

  • ITIL Certification (Preferred) 

  • Cloud Certifications (Azure DP-203, AWS Data Analytics, or GCP Data Engineer) 

  • BI Tools Certifications (Power BI, Tableau)
