Job Description:
Define scalable application, API, and cloud infrastructure designs; set technical standards; and guide a cross-functional team through an initial architecture sprint to validate approach and delivery.
Responsibilities:
Own solution architecture across frontend, backend, data, and cloud infrastructure.
Translate retail needs (catalog, pricing, inventory, orders, payments, promotions, loyalty, search) into modular designs.
Define API strategy and standards (REST/GraphQL, versioning, auth, SLAs, documentation).
Produce reference architecture, ADRs, HLD/LLD, and target-state roadmaps.
Establish CI/CD, IaC, observability, security, and cost optimization practices.
Lead discovery, spikes, and a vertical-slice POC.
Conduct architecture/code reviews; mentor engineers; partner with Product/UX.
Ensure resilience and compliance (PCI considerations, backups/DR, multi-region).
Must-Have Skills:
Full-stack architecture with hands-on execution.
Python and Django (including Django REST Framework).
API design and implementation (REST/GraphQL, OpenAPI, OAuth2/OIDC).
Application architecture: modular monoliths/microservices, event-driven patterns, caching, messaging.
Infrastructure design: AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker/Kubernetes, Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD.
Databases: PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis; strong schema design and performance tuning.
Observability: logging, metrics, tracing (e.g., ELK/OpenSearch, Prometheus/Grafana).
Security: secure coding, secrets management, encryption, threat modeling, compliance awareness.
Performance, scalability, and cost optimization for retail workloads.
Qualification:
8–12+ years in software engineering; 3+ years as a solution/enterprise architect.
Delivered high-scale, high-availability platforms and APIs.
Led cross-functional teams; influenced standards and roadmaps.
Retail/e-commerce domain experience preferred (orders, payments, catalog, OMS).
Nice-to-Have:
Frontend frameworks (React/Vue/Angular) and admin tooling.
Mobile/web app patterns (React Native/Flutter).
Messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ/SQS), event sourcing, CQRS.
Search (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch), recommendations/ML integration.
Multi-tenant design, multi-region deployments, edge/CDN strategies.
Education:
B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or related technical degree OR Equivalent
