About the role

We are looking for a Stewarding Supervisor to join our hardworking and dynamic back-of-house operations team. As a key leader within the stewarding department, you will ensure the cleanliness, organisation, and smooth running of all kitchen and service areas. You will oversee the stewarding team, support the culinary and food & beverage departments, and help maintain the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and operational efficiency across the hotel.

What you will do

  • Supervise and support the stewarding team to ensure all kitchen and back-of-house areas are consistently clean, safe, and well organised.

  • Oversee the washing and storage of all china, glassware, silver, equipment, and utensils.

  • Maintain accurate inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, placing orders when required.

  • Ensure all hygiene, sanitation, and health & safety standards are met, including compliance with HACCP guidelines.

  • Work closely with the culinary and F&B teams to support service operations and respond quickly to operational needs.

  • Train, guide, and motivate team members, ensuring high performance and adherence to procedures.

  • Report maintenance issues, equipment failures, or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate department.

  • Assist with scheduling, task delegation, and daily briefings to ensure smooth departmental operations.

What you will bring

  • Previous experience in a stewarding or kitchen operations role, ideally within a luxury hotel or high-volume environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team.

  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.

  • A commitment to high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Good communication skills and a professional, positive attitude.

  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
