About this role
Position: Material Handler
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Safely load and unload goods from trucks by forklift as well as by hand
- Organize dock space for incoming shipments
- Maintain inventory of shipments and cargo in the warehouse
- Pick, wrap, and stage orders to be shipped
- Stack goods in the correct storage lanes, following inventory control instructions
- Ensure loads are secure
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Crosstrain as needed to learn all warehouse functions
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Math, reading, writing, and communication skills
- Sorting and grouping skills
- Must be able to read and understand the difference in product labels and load ticket instructions
- Must be able to work in a warehouse environment that is not climate controlled with exposure to hot/humid or cold weather conditions
- Experience with cross dock, trans loads, and distribution
- Must have at least two (2) years’ experience on sit-down forklift
- Team oriented
