Job Summary: 

The Production Supervisor oversees the staffing, scheduling, and coordination of activities required to manufacture complex electro‑mechanical medical devices in accordance with product requirements and specifications. This role is responsible for staffing, equipment oversight, quality control, inventory management, and the effective coordination of daily production activities.

As a key member of the production team, the Production Supervisor helps develop, refine, and maintain accurate short‑ and long‑term production schedules that support on‑time delivery, maximize efficiency, increase throughput, and optimize labor resources. The role also participates as part of the Functional Manager group.

A critical component of this position is championing continuous improvement initiatives that increase throughput, reduce waste, enhance product quality, and strengthen operational stability. The Production Supervisor leads structured problem‑solving, implements lean methodologies, and collaborates cross‑functionally to build a culture of daily improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the production team.
  • Foster a fair, objective, and collaborative work environment that promotes high‑quality output.
  • Hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff while supporting performance management, quality initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Serve as the primary CI champion on the production floor, driving a culture of daily improvement and accountability.
  • Partner with Process Development and Industrial Engineering to design and optimize production lines to meet internal and customer expectations.
  • Build and reinforce a culture focused on exceeding expectations, continuous improvement, and a commitment to quality.
  • Develop training materials and standardized processes for assemblers; provide the tools, guidance, and training needed for successful performance.
  • Establish and maintain best practices to ensure products move efficiently and effectively through the production process.
  • Ensure compliance with Production Controls, Quality procedures, cGMP, regulatory standards, and all established safety guidelines.
  • Track, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the team consistently meets or exceeds expectations for the organization and its customers.
  • Measure and analyze key performance indicators (KPI) related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity, and use data insights to prioritize improvements.
  • Facilitate and implement lean tools such as 5S, value stream mapping, standard work, visual management, and workflow optimization.
  • Lead structured problem‑solving activities (A3, 5 Whys, fishbone, DMAIC) to eliminate root causes and strengthen process capability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Liberal Arts, Manufacturing, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a high‑technology electronics manufacturing environment; medical device experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide, mentor, and develop manufacturing staff, supporting their professional growth and daily accomplishments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety practices, and compliance expectations.
  • Familiarity with world‑class manufacturing principles such as lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.
  • Proven experience collaborating across functional areas and management levels to resolve operational challenges and develop strategic improvements.

Compensation and Total Rewards Package

The salary range for this position is outlined below under "Job Details" and is dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable employment laws. Beyond base salary, Forj offers a competitive Total Rewards Package. We offer health, dental, vision, 401K plans, and time off programs. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual bonus program which depends on various factors, including, individual and organizational performance.
