About this role

Assemble, disassemble, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production and prototype powertrains (transmissions, axles, electrified powertrains and batteries), and vehicles; following the build book, illustrations, sketches, prints, check sheets, and repair manuals Perform both garage and bench work, including, but not limited to: transmission/axle removal and reinstallation, transmission/electrified powertrain teardown and rebuild Works various shifts, including weekends when requested Ability to complete full garage services on vehicles, build up and teardown of prototype transmissions and axles Basic Computer skills for email and data entry Established and active employee resource groups High School Diploma or GED 1+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment operation Valid and unrestricted driver's license 5+ years with knowledge of electrical, air conditioning, fuel emissions, brakes, steering, hydraulics and clutches is helpful Strong mechanical aptitude Ability to utilize or learn the Ford WORQ system and Microsoft Outlook and Excel Certified mechanic in the state of Michigan Ability to communicate optimally and professionally 5+ years of experience with computers for data entry/vehicle diagnostics Must be a self-starter and driven to complete projects
