About this role

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be a pivotal leader, embodying Ford's commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and a people-first culture. Your responsibilities will include: Lead an hourly unionized team responsible for Receiving, Packaging, Replenishment, Picking, and Shipping. Deliver objectives related to Cost, Quality, Safety, Efficiency, Absenteeism. Safety First: Act as a champion of workplace safety, proactively enforcing regulations and fostering a culture of vigilance Driving Operational Excellence: Lead and direct a team of employees across various warehouse functions, including Receiving, Packaging, Replenishment, Picking, and Shipping, ensuring the team consistently ships high-quality products and meets or exceeds production targets. You will take ownership of team performance, addressing shortcomings proactively and celebrating successes. Strategic Focus & Problem Solving: Prioritize critical tasks and effectively allocate human resources to maximize efficiency. You will apply for a "Bias for Action," promptly and decisively addressing safety and quality issues to prevent larger problems. This includes identifying and analyzing problems, developing and implementing effective solutions, making timely and well-informed decisions, and adapting to changing circumstances. Team Leadership & Development: Embrace a servant leadership style, focusing on building high performance, winning teams and investing in their growth. You will foster a positive and collaborative work environment, motivating your team to achieve shared goals. Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data and insights to slash downtime and quality defects, driving quantifiable improvements in efficiency and quality. This includes meticulously tracking and reporting employee time and attendance, transforming raw data into actionable intelligence for strategic decision-making and continuous improvement. Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance: Maintain a relentless focus on identifying and eliminating inefficiencies, improving processes, and driving innovation to enhance productivity, quality, and safety. You will be uncompromisingly committed to quality, implementing and maintaining rigorous standards, and relentlessly pursuing excellence to eliminate defects and ensure exceptional product quality. Conflict Resolution & Interpersonal Relationships: Proactively address and mediate conflicts fairly and effectively, facilitating mutually acceptable solutions. This requires active listening, empathy, and the ability to de-escalate tense situations. You will build and maintain strong, positive working relationships with your team and all partners, including suppliers and union representatives, through transparent communication and a willingness to listen, fostering a psychologically safe environment. Accountability & Fairness: Champion accountability, managing both your own performance and that of the hourly workforce regarding processes and standards. You will ensure accountability, play fair, and meet conflict with decisive action. Collaboration: Actively listen to and value the perspectives of all team members and other department stakeholders. You will be a partner with team members, the union, and management to continuously improve everything. Established and active employee resource groups High school diploma or GED 1+ years of experience in supervisory roles, manufacturing, military or other relevant experience. Internship and co-op experience will be considered Ability to work rotating shifts / hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays. Bachelor's degree or Military Leadership Experience with Lean / Six Sigma methodology and / or Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) Experience
