About this role

The Product Development Engineer will Design & Release new and existing components/sub-systems which meet program requirements. Lead CPMT activities and manage workplan deliverables meeting GPDS timing. Lead WERS (Worldwide Engineering Release System); alerts, concerns and notice processing. Lead/Support resolution of major design, manufacturing, program, and launch issues. Create, complete, approve DVPs and oversee testing in support of robust validation. Develop and maintain CPMT documents, including appropriate documentation (FEDE, ESOW, DFMEA, PTDV, e3P, SCCAF's, Global Integrator, PPAP, 543 Chart etc.) of program specific deliverables. Support all Program Meetings (EPMT, Design Review, DPMT, Change Control, etc ). Work directly with Ford Manufacturing, External Suppliers, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), and Launch teams to support program requirements and resolve quality issues. Interface with cross-functional team members, such as Purchasing, Mating Components, Calibration, and Core Engineering. Lead / Support resolution of all design, manufacturing, quality, and launch issues. Analyze warranty data and customer feedback on system or component performance and identify improvements (design and process) and implement prevent reoccurrence. Travel as necessary to Ford Assembly Plants/Facilities and Suppler/Sub-Supplier sites for issue resolution and build support. Established and active employee resource groups Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, materials engineering or equivalent degree. Master's degree preferred. 3+ years of experience with Powertrain engineering Technical experience with Gasoline Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills (black belt certification preferred) Experience with CAE Simulation Methodologies (1D, 3D, FEA, CFD) Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc) An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
