Development of manufacturing processes Lead delivery of new model program work for Powertrain programs. Manufacturing representative on product development and plant cross functional teams, converting what is wanted into how it can be made. Develop manufacturing process and associated equipment specifications to deliver safe and efficient equipment and systems. Partner with purchasing to issue request for quotations, analyze responses, and select a successful bidder to ensure procurement of the lowest cost systems able to satisfy project timing and equipment performance requirements. Lead simultaneous engineering meetings with suppliers to orchestrate equipment design, build, and installation. Define the scope of equipment installation for either turn-key, direct contracted, or internal trades. Lead the bidding process, review bids, and work with purchasing to award final contracts. Coordinate and track program facilities funding and maintain financial records. Establish project timing, track progress, and communicate status to program delivery, plant, and leadership teams. Coordinate PTME Process requirements with plant teams, Ford Land, safety, ergonomics, quality, materials planning and logistics, and other activities to ensure equipment and installations support PTME demands, protect our people, and satisfy all quality, cost, and productivity targets. Direct activities of installation contractors or internal trades to install and power-on equipment according to program timing. On-site support: hands-on work with equipment and suppliers. During launch, travel and on-site presence are required. Lead equipment operational evaluations and confirm all performance specifications are met. Lead successful transfer of equipment to plant manufacturing teams. Track manufacturing equipment and system builds Lead equipment launch and commissioning Work as part of a diverse team with process, safety, controls, Ford Land, and plant engineers as well as external engineering, suppliers, and installation contractors Driving, tracking, and reporting status and progress to peers and leadership Development of manufacturing standards and driving continuous improvement. * Ensure the identification and capture of lessons learned, their application to Powertrain programs, and impacts to existing strategies and standard Participate in management program reviews and represent the Powertrain Manufacturing organization in commodity discussions. Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience. Desire to build and hone a broad skill set including leading teams, project management, safety and ergonomics, materials planning and logistics, testing and validation, gauging, manufacturing processes and equipment, and presenting to leadership. Equipment and process troubleshooting with a focus on implementing best possible resolutions for the overall enterprise. Ability to develop project timing and coordinate activities to control all aspects of program deliverables across multiple organizations. 3D CAD review abilities, ability to read 2D blueprints and construction drawings.
