Overview:

FORCE America, Inc is looking to fill an opening for a Material Handler. Our Material Handler is a part of our Distribution team and responsible for pulling parts for orders, shipping and receiving product, assisting in inventory counts, moving stock throughout the system, and maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ship product per FORCE America defined expectations for carriers.
  • Receive product per FORCE America best practice.
  • Safely operate a forklift.
  • Move throughout the warehouse to pull and pick orders.
  • Climb ladder to store and pull product.
  • Push product on cart throughout warehouse (while picking and/or shipping product)
  • Stock inventory.
  • Utilize inventory count sheet to conduct daily inventory cycle counts.
  • Optimize shelving capacity.
  • Communicate with external providers.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Maintain system accuracy and record transactions in ERP operating system.
  • Distribution: Assist in customer service or counter sales.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of work experience.
  • Strong comprehension of verbal and written work expectations.
  • Able to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize to meet the expectations of the customer.
  • Detail oriented; motivated to provide the highest level of quality.
  • Familiar with Microsoft office tools including, Outlook, Word, Excel, and web applications.

  • The majority of the time will be inside conditions with protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Some work is achieved near open bays with no control over weather conditions. Work will be in a warehouse setting with frequent movement throughout the facility.

 

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by and employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Must be able to exert up to 70 lbs. of force occasionally (5 times per day) and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently (50 times per day) and up to 25 lbs. of force on a regular basis through the day, depending on work related circumstances.
  • Must be able to lift objects from floor to above shoulder level. Must be able to move objects/parts/tools and equipment from one area to another and one level to another level.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination
  • Standing or Sitting for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Ability to push a cart throughout the warehouse while pulling orders or preparing shipping.
  • Ability to use a ladder safely to store and/or pull product for orders.
  • Reaching – extending and pulling the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction while working with various tools as mentioned above.
