Job Description

Leads one or more teams of Equipment Operators and performs work as an Equipment Operator, as needed. Allocates equipment and personnel based upon project priorities. Communicates effectively with client, project personnel and team members. Coordinates proper maintenance and repair of assigned equipment. Ensures safe work practices and compliance with safety requirements at all times. Completes all necessary administrative requirements and performs duties of subordinate personnel as required. Operates light, medium and some heavy equipment and light to heavy duty trucks. Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to project construction, operations and maintenance activities. May operate single axle dump trucks, dual axle dump trucks with automatic and manual transmissions, loaders, roller and compactors, tractors, sprayers, sweepers, plows, forklifts, backhoes and related equipment. Checks equipment condition and reports major mechanical issues; performs minor or emergency repairs, if needed. May train less skilled workers in operation and care of equipment. Performs manual labor or other duties as necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements

High school diploma / GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and four (4) years to seven (7) years related experience.

Other Job Requirements

Requires the job knowledge, skill level and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions. To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions. Must be certified and able to operate.
