About this role

Role Summary:

This role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating manual and CNC machinery to support the production of Flowserve products while upholding a zero-accident safety culture. The position involves setting up and running multiple work centers, using a variety of machines, hand tools, and measuring instruments to produce quality parts to specification. The role requires reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, performing basic shop math, setting up tooling and fixturing, and completing all required documentation accurately. Maintaining an organized work area, staying current with required training, and applying departmental procedures are essential to ensuring consistent, high-quality manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and buying into a zero-accident safety culture expectation 
  • Ensuring the efficient operation of machinery used in the production of Flowserve products
  • Learning and applying departmental policies and procedures to work assignments
  • Operating machinery and hand tools which may include, manual and CNC machinery, deburring equipment and grinders, shot/glass bead blasting, heat treatment furnaces, band saw, abrasive saw
  • Proficiently operating multiple work centers
  • Accurately measuring parts using tools such as, but not limited to:
    • Outside micrometer
    • Inside micrometer
    • Digital, and dial calipers
    • Scales
    • Tape measure
  • Maintaining an organized and safe work environment
  • Accurately completing all paperwork associated with tasks being performed
  • Keeping up to date with all required trainings

Requirements:

  • Typically, 1 – 3 years of experience doing similar work
  • Understands and buys into a zero-accident safety culture expectation
  • Basic shop math skills including arithmetic, conversion of fractions to decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/production drawings
  • For CNC equipment, a basic knowledge of G-Code or conversational programming
  • For CNC equipment, ability to load and save programs; set and change tool and work offsets
  • Ability to set up fixturing and tooling on manual or CNC machines

Preferred:

  • Experience working with cast materials
  • Previous shop floor experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with basic rigging and use of overhead cranes
  • Knowledge of machining methods, cutting tools, cutting qualities of metals

Site Specific Details:

  • First shift positions Monday thru Friday, 06:30-1500
  • Second shift hours Monday thru Friday, 14:45-23:15
  • Overtime as required (required overtime will have 36-hour notice)
