The New Product Development Engineer develops new technologies for use on the company’s fleet of compressor packages. This position is instrumental in maintaining Estis Compression’s place as an industry leader in delivering reliable and innovative compression solutions. Collaboration with a diverse group of personalities, both internal and external is expected. Frequent travel and work in field locations will be required.
Responsibilities/Job Duties
Develops and grows knowledge and practical experience of a broad range of mechanical, electrical and thermodynamic subjects needed to develop new and innovative products and solutions for compressors
Attends industry technical conferences, keeping abreast of industry developments and trends
Serves as project manager on new product development efforts
Works with company’s operations staff to understand equipment challenges and brainstorm solutions to those challenges
Collaborates with company’s fleet management team to identify and propose new and industry leading equipment specifications
Interacts with internal sales staff and occasionally even customers to understand unmet needs and develop solutions to those needs
Works with company’s vendors to introduce and trial new products and solutions
Serves as a technical resource for company personnel to support and train on developed products and solutions
Ability to boil down complex ideas and data, distilling into presentations and reports for distribution internally and external to the company
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Hands-on experience with mechanical equipment
Basic knowledge of oil/gas production practices

10+ years of engineering experience in a mechanical role
Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge with engines and compressors
Familiarity with oil/gas production practices and facilities
Ability to perform Root Cause Failure Analysis
