Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of welding experience required
  • Certificate/degree from trade school, vo-tech, apprenticeship, or military trade school preferred
  • General understanding of AWS, ASME IX, and Navsea welding specifications
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical principles and techniques such as welding jigs and fixtures, workmanship requirements of welds, heat control, distortion, expansion/shrinkage, and purging principles
  • Sanitary/process pipe BPE welding preferred but not required
  • Understanding of visual inspection and mechanical requirements of welds set forth by ASME IX, AWS D1.1 and D18.2 also B1.11
  • Experience with thin-wall tubing below .049 wall thickness
  • Ability to fuse weld and 100% penetration welds
  • Experience in GTAW welding stainless steel, carbon steel, OSS, HSS, Monel, and Inconel base materials
  • Experience with manual machining and lathe operations
  • Experience GTAW with bare rods 308, 309, 316, 70S2, NICU-7, NICU-3, NICRMO-3, NICRMO-7
  • Ability to cut, thread, and bevel pipes for the preparation of welding
  • Ability to weld in all positions: vertical, horizontal, and overhead
  • Previous welding experience with certification preferred, but not required
  • Ability to pass local welding test D9.1 section 6.4

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings/blueprints/ and welding symbols
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards
  • Follow directions and work independently
  • Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding and fabrication
  • Understanding and experience with machines and tools used in welding and fabrication, such as grinders, sanders, bandsaws, and other related tools
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, such as housekeeping, assisting other team members with daily tasks
  • Follows all safety procedures and programs
  • Ability to adhere tothe  production schedule
